Report: Hammers track Inter midfielder

West Ham have been linked with intertest with Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino for just €8 million (£6.8 million) this summer according to a report from Calciomercato.

The 29-year-old has allegedly been transfer lister by the Serie A giants who want to shift him in the next transfer window.

The Hammers allegedly actually made an offer to sign the 41-capped Uruguay international in January according to Calcio Mercato.

The 29-year-old has made just one appearance for Inter all season.

Vecino started his professional career with Central Español in 2010, and switched to Nacional for the 2011–12 season.

In 2013, Vecino joined Serie A side Fiorentina by penning a four-year contract for a reported transfer fee of €2.5 million. 

In 2017 Fiorentina authorized completed a reported €24 million transfer to Inter Milan on an initial four year deal.

Vecino was born in Canelones, Uruguay, to a family of Italian ancestry, with roots in the city of Campobasso, and was eligible for both national teams.

He has been capped by the Uruguay national under-20 football team for the 2011 South American Youth Championship and for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
