Report: New interest in Hammers striker

Speculation is again on the rise that Lucas Perez could be on his way from the Hammers with Real Betis the latest club being linked with the striker.

The news has been reported by AS – a Spanish daily – who declare that he is Betis’ preferred January target although the Hammers have insisted for some time that nobody will be leaving in the window.

Having arrived from Arsenal, Perez has hardly set the world alight but Pellegrini appears to have faith in him and wants to keep him until the end of the campaign at least.

There has to be a remote chance however, that should Chicharito return to the squad over the next few days, as expected, the Hammers would re-think their position on the player.

Andy Carroll appears to be getting back to a decent level of fitness and with Arnautovic now fully fit he may feel he could let the 30 year old leave if the offer was right.

Were that the case the club would probably want to make a small profit of the 5 million euros they paid for him.

Didnt Adrian get linked with a return to Real Betis?

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

He is a bit of an enigma, he showed in the one game he played well that he is very capable but in most matches he seems to be always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Apparently in training his finishing is on a different level but we don’t see that often enough on the pitch, if he wants to go then sell him and get Gabigol or another up and coming striker COYI !!!

Happy for him to go. His heart isn’t in it, and I’ve seen nothing to suggest that he offers anything that Xande Silva can’t. Have Xande as our fourth striker, behind AC, Chica and Arnie. We also have Antonio as a last resort, so just can’t see the point in paying his wages… Get him out, and bring in Dack from Blackburn.

Not convinced with this Carroll claim about his level of fitness, not what I saw at the weekend! he was out of position so much it was disgraceful, just before half time we broke from our own half, the ball was ready to be crossed into the box, Carroll had not even reached half way into their half! he missed a complete sitter before he scored in the final minutes, and some fans want virtually to build a statue to him for achieving this little!

We have been robbed for too long his salary is far too high, he is now so slow, doesn’t seem to be able to be in the right position most of the time, he is nothing more than a bench player and for what we pay him he is not good enough! Needs to go in this window, to offer him an extension at the end of the season would be a crime.
