Rice deal remains on the table

|

Declan Rice is currently set to start the new season on the same financial terms as he finished the last one – £3k a week and £10k a a game appearance his money.

We understand that the player’s advisers are still unprepared to do a deal with the club which sees his basic salary rise to £15k plus the £10k a game clause although the offer remains on the table.

They have also been informed the teenager will receive regular reviews on his package at Christmas and at the end of next season as has been the case with others.

However, the manager is taking his first look at the squad members in Switzerland and will return with a personal dossier on each which clearly defines their futures.

As reported previously he  is set to have a major input on Declan’s contact and reports within the club are that the youngster has impressed enormously both on and off the training pitch so far.

And that could lead to Pellegrini insisting that the offer is revised as he bids to tie down the squad members he sees as taking the club forward during the period of his contract.
