Rice hoping boyhood dream comes true

|

Declan Rice’s friendship with Chelsea’ Mason Mount goes way back over the next few days could blossom into an on pitch relationship when they play alongside each other for the Three Lions.

Dec has been close to the Blues youngster since they started training and playing together at the age of seven before – seven years later –  the Stamford Bridge club decided he wasn’t good enough to make it with them!

Despite leaving his pal behind the pair remained buddies and whilst on holiday recently produced a hilarious video which went viral.

Rice had also amusingly attempted to give his pal some advice about joining the Hammers.

That’s unlikely to happen with Declan continuing his learning curve under Manuel Pellegrini with Mount hoping he continues to hold down a first team place at Chelsea under Frank Lampard.

England boss Gareth Southgate now has to decide whether the air will appear together in in Saturday afternoon’s UEFA Euro 2020 Group A qualifier with Bulgaria at Wembley Stadium.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/september/06-september/declan-rice-play-alongside-mason-mount-england-would-be Rice said: “When the squad was announced, it’s always an honour to be called-up and be part of it.

“It’s a great young, attacking team and I’m really looking forward to working alongside the lads again and under Gareth and hopefully getting two victories.

“I’m delighted Mason is there too! When I got released from Chelsea, we always said ‘One day we will play together again’ and hopefully now that chance will be for England. That would be really special for me and my family.”
