Rice the “special edition”

|

Declan Rice is performing at the level of a “special edition” player, according to David Moyes.

The midfielder has emerged as one of the best defensive midfielders in world football throughout the campaign, having reached the final of Euro 2020 with England in the summer.

The Hammers are taking on Kidderminster this weekend and it remains to be seen if Rice will actually be played in the game, although he is almost certain to be in the team against Watford when the Premier League returns.

Rice, of course, has been heavily linked with a move to a club like Manchester United or Chelsea, and Moyes thinks that he is now the very best midfielder on the continent.

Speaking to reporters before this weekend’s clash with Kidderminster, he said: “Special edition means that there’s very few people like him out there. It’s like buying something that there isn’t many of them. He is a special, special edition, a special player and for me he is probably the best midfield player in Europe at this present time.”
