|

Chelsea have announced that tickets to the West Ham away fixture at London Stadium will not go on sale as planned on Monday 9th March due to their continued participation in the Champions League.

The West London club’s official website say they will provide a  further update of when the fixture will go on sale in due course on the club website.

The Hammers are due to play Chelsea at the London Stadium on Sunday 5th April with 2 pm kick off subject to West London side getting dumped out of the Champions League.

Chelsea were beaten 3-0 by Bayern Munich at Stamford Bridge on 25th February and are due to face the German team again away on Wednesday 18th March.

The first leg of the Champions League quarter finals will be played on either 7th or 8th April but Chelsea will first need to overcome a three goal deficit in Germany to have any kind of chance progressing in Europe.

It would be ridiculous for the fixture to be postponed if Chelsea did progress in the CL when they would have a flight shorter than their coach journey to Norwich !
