“Signed” – deadline day deal concluded as West Ham’s squad number grows by one

Cutting it fine, much as they did with the loan signing of Axel Disasi in the winter window, West Ham  have completed one of their planned pieces of business for deadline day.

To be confirmed later on the West Ham web site, no doubt, but given the thumbs up by our sources at the club, Nuno has a reunion with his former Nottingham Forest defender Morato who has concluded his loan deal to join West Ham United today.

Nottingham Forest defender Morato is a West Ham transfer target ahead of the summer deadline.

West Ham’s latest recruit Morato has joined on loan

Giving the Hammers a third centre back option after the loaning out of Jean Clair Todibo was also confirmed officially by West Ham today, Nuno at last has some cover and competition for Mavropanos (who, you’ll remember, was absent at the weekend with a dead leg) and Kilman who have not looked particularly secure.

We can but hope that the signing of Morato proves as inspired as that of Disasi who almost helped West Ham pull off their great escape 2.0 last season. Almost, but not quite.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

I used to go up until the 80s when 12000 of us watched a midweek game against burnley all expecting a voucher for on coming f a cup final ticket
not one of us had a correct voucher i swore never again so i have become an armchair supporter which is a shame as i was born in plaistow and used to walk tothe ground

Yeah, I recall that season. The brain trust at WHU decided to hand out the vouchers at a big game with 40,000 vouchers handed out to fair-weather fans …

He done a decent job for Forest under Nuno let’s hope he is a upgrade for Kilman

More worrying where Lewis Orford , I hope im wrong does nuno have a clue. Win tonight and I’ll say yes , he frightens me every team selection. Lose tonight after the window shuts the club can concentrate on replacing him .

Couldn’t agree more. Some bench player from Forest over an academy grad who hasn’t put a foot wrong this season!? And Orford being left out of the squad altogether? I hope there’s a good reason for that, but never know when it comes to Nuno’s braindead choices.
