Sky pundit Paul Merson predicts Spurs will beat West Ham 2-1 on Saturday lunch time despite the upcoming Champions League final.
He told his Sky Sports Website readers “It’ll be hard for Tottenham, with one eye on next week, they’ve got to. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing, in my opinion. With the scores across the last week, they’re only a win away from the top four. But they can’t afford any injuries before the Ajax game.
You just don’t know what you’re going to get with West Ham. They are the Premier League bag of revels. One minute they have to score four to beat Huddersfield, then get ripped up by Everton at home, then go to United and nearly win. It’s a strange one.”
However, Jamie Redknapp disagrees and has warned of an upset.
Speaking to Sky Sports Premier League Redknapp said “I’ve said it before, the West Ham game is such an important one because it is a derby game, I played in it, It means so much to the Spurs fans, but West Ham have come to Spurs and had good results previously, so it won’t be an easy one. And the Spurs players will have their minds on Champions League, which is the next game after that.”
Bookies make Spurs the odds on 2/5 favourites for the win with a draw at 9/2 and a West Ham win at 13/2.
A 1-0 West Ham win is 25/1 with 2-0 at 50/1, a Hammers 2-1 win is 20/1
