Solskjaer updates Lingard position

|

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has presented a straight back to Jesse Lingard’s  possible switch to the London Stadium.

Talks are clearly underway aimed at bringing the 28 year old to the east end but the United boss made it clear nothing has happened yet.

Like all deals at this time of the year there are many ‘fors’ and ‘againsts,’ notably as the Hammers boss David Moyes  was expected to move for an out and out centre forward.

But he is a long time admirer of the United attacking midfielder and may even be pressing David Sullivan into making the Said Benrahma deal permanent so he has the opportunity of bringing in the former England man.

But Solskjaer was giving nothing away when he addressed an Old Trafford press conference and talked in general terms about the situation of the the long time United player moving on.

Explaining the position  he made it clear there had been interest in various Reds players from clubs.

He said: “He (Lingard ) is still part of our club. He has been training well and no deals have been struck for any players going out.

“There have been many clubs interested in our players and it is important that the players wishes are taken into consideration as well because they are Manchester United players through and through.
