Soucek short-listed for top award

|

Tomáš Souček has been nominated for the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month award for December.

It’s a  first official recognition of the significance Tomas has brought to this club and the Premier League during his first full season with us.

It’s been said many times but he is probably the most important player we have signed in many seasons with his Czech team-mate Vladimir Coufal not far behind

It should come as no surprise to see him alongside seven top Premier League names battling for a highly prized award and he has to have every chance of picking it up.

His three goals in the final month of 2020 have been vital in helping lift the Hammers into Premier League top 10 on level points with Chelsea.

The reigning Czech Footballer of the Year ranks in the top three in goals, passes, shots, tackles, aerial battles won, clearances and interceptions for West Ham this season.

The No28 finds himself in the company of Aston Villa’s Anwar El Ghazi and Emiliano Martinez, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, Manchester City’s John Stones, Burnley’s Ben Mee and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah who are the other names on the shortlist..
