The assumption has been that both West Ham’s forwards Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos would miss out on the Bolton fixture after the duo both suffered injury problems last weekend. Pablo tweaked his calf and was a late withdrawal whilst Taty limped off after an hour with what we now know to be a hamstring issue.
So it was widely expected that WestHam would need to make changes to their front line with Joel Piroe seemingly the only fit forward ready to lead the line – and he with just a three day turnaround after a fairly full 95 minutes against Derby by which point he was visibly blowing hard.
However West Ham’s media department might have revealed some good news for fans ahead of tomorrows trip, with the bearded wonder Pablo clearly visible in ‘pre Bolton’ training.
The Brazilian is reported as wanting to start the previous game against Derby, only to be warned off by the fitness team, quite possibly mindful of the frequency of fixtures to come over the next two weeks. Hammers News
Which certainly offers a more optimistic outlook for the forwards – whether either are deemed fit to participate tomorrow night, there’s evidently nothing too significant holding the Brazilian at least back from training: However this is something of a recurring theme for Pablo who had several games out last season with a similar issue.
Quite possibly he’ll be in line for a late entry tomorrow evening for a few minutes to relieve Joel Piroe who probably cannot remember the last time he played two 90 minute competitive matches inside 72 hours. Will be looking at the bench selection closely for clues tomorrow, sad Hammers fan that I am.
