Spurs victory marred by trouble

|

West Ham’s victory over Spurs was marred by ugly scenes prior to the game.

Footage has been published of fans throwing missiles including glass bottles as Spurs fans made their way to the Boleyn Ground along Green Street from Upton Park underground station.

The police kept a cordon of 20 metres or so between rival fans using dozens of officers, horses and police dogs.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that there were three arrests – one on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and two for affray and assault on police.
