West Ham insider ExWHUEmployee is reporting that Tim Steidten is traveling out to Brazil again and he may look to speak with Corinthians’ Wesley Gassova in a bid to conclude a deal for the winger.
West Ham seemed to have a deal in place earlier in the transfer window but instead shifted their attention to fellow Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme. There were reports suggesting the Hammers might revisit the deal in the January transfer window, with the Brazilian club keen to keep the player for the time being.
Just last week, Brazilian legend Cafu gave Wesley a glowing report when recommending him to Roma as a potential signing.
“Every time I talk about him, I talk about him with joy,” Cafu said.
“My advice for Roma’s transfer plans? You always have to find the right players, never buy for the sake of buying.”
“I’m betting on Wesley from Corinthians. He is a very good left winger. He will be Brazil’s next star, I know it. That’s why I think Roma should sign him. Without a doubt, I recommend him.”
Let’s see if Steidten can conclude a deal for a player who’s reputation is clearly growing and is highly regarded in his homeland.
If you are good enough you are old enough just look at Spain wonderkid Lamine Yamal…..if someone like Cafu and others rate this Lad so high then it is a no brainer if we can get him
Game knows game
If we are serious we will make sure we get him, but alas I’m not so sure we are serious unfortunately, we don’t want to overpay for dhuran, but i like the idea of signing potentially top talent as long as we aren’t held to ransom, it’s a buyers market at the moment as so many teams need to balance there books, so get the right players at the right age preferabley at the right price. Another central defender to partner kilman and a striker must be top priority no excuses whatsoever that window has long since passed, so just go and get the players you want under the spotlight of my advice.
As ever it’s wait and see
Nothing ever happens till a player at least has a medical
What worries me if we buy him what happens to the young lad we bought are we going to stick him in the youth team and we all know what happens to them
That was a Moyes innovation and it’s unlikely to happen with JLo.
Rotation is needed.
Moyes had no confidence in subs bench.
Fatigue probably cost us premier league place maybe Europe.
Need to look at top 6 to see depth of their squad if a player needs replacing one of equal quality comes on.
Players may not like it but it’s name of the game.
Our interest in this player has been known for quite some time now. With this in mind I regularly check the BBC results for Corinthians to keep an eye on Wesley. He starts all the time but doesn’t seem to score or assist. I know Corinthians are in the bottom four in the League. Surely if he was the next big thing from Brazil he’d still be scoring / assisting? I’d rather sign Soule from Juve as Serie A is a much harder league than Brazil and his stats were impressive. We’ve signed one promising youngster from Brazil which is risky. I’d only go for Wesley if we can get him for £7m.
Dead right Matt. Get Soule if possible. Has the stats and young too.
