Striker signs first West Ham contract

|

West Ham  Academy striker Amadou Diallo has put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract with the Hammers.

After turning 17-years-old today, the Academy of Football starlet has been rewarded for his excellent first half of the season, with two goals in eight games for the Under-23s to his name.

Diallo enjoyed a fruitful week with England Under-17s, both captaining and scoring twice for the Young Lions during three friendlies earlier this month.

Having joined the Academy as a ten-year-old, Diallo debuted for the U18s in August 2017 aged 14 prior to netting on his U23s debut as a 15-year-old in December 2018.

A boyhood fan of the Club, Diallo was full of pride in signing his first professional deal at West Ham.

“It feels amazing,” Diallo smiled. “I’ve been working for this my whole life, so I’m delighted to sign. It’s a very exciting moment for me and my family.

“I’d like to thank my family first of all, and all the coaches that I’ve worked with; all of them have had a big impact on me.

“One of my main dreams is to play for the Club because I grew up around Upton Park. Hearing the fans singing, I just wanted to play for West Ham United.”

Who is the himself to which you refer Razor? Unfortunately your spelling, grammar and punctuation make your posts very difficult to understand and in turn make the working classes look stupid.

Think your find like myself family and himself are what you call hammers for life . Brought up working classes and from birth till death dont change because of the ups and downs of football . I cant stand the faults of tHIS board or the cearns or brown over the years I have been supporting my club, but to suggest a talent should sign elsewhere is stupidity especially as we just got a manure lad wanted by so many others too that came here instead of signing for a supposedly top club in football. That dont seem to sound we dont give our kids a chance to me. Imo. COYI

The way the club treats our youngsters you should of signed for a club that would give you a chance in the first team.
