There are growing indications that West Ham United have adjusted their internal valuation of Crysencio Summerville, with suggestions now insisting the winger will only be sold for a significantly higher fee than the reported £50m benchmark previously circulated.

The club’s stance has hardened driven by a combination of form, market inflation, age profile, and contract security.

Summerville’s World Cup form has moved him into a higher bracket, combined with his performances last season, goals, creativity, ball-carrying, and match‑winning moments. West Ham believe his output compares favourably with players valued at £70m–£80m.

The transfer market has exploded for wide forwards, against that backdrop, West Ham see no justification for accepting a low figure for a player with Summerville’s numbers and trajectory. Age and profile make him a premium asset, at 22, Summerville fits the exact model top clubs now pay a premium for, young, home grown and high resale potential.

West Ham believe Summerville’s value is exploding

His contract gives West Ham leverage: They hold all the cards, and they know it.

The number of interested clubs monitoring the situation, increases every day, and West Ham’s message to all of them is now clear, if you want him, you need to pay up!

Internally, West Ham believe Summerville is one of their most valuable assets. With Daniel Kretinsky increasing his holding and committing further investment, the club are under no financial pressure to sell the player.

I have been a season ticket holder since the late eighties, so experienced the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter. I previously wrote for OLAS and have contributed to a number of football publications in the past.

At last the club is taking a hard stance with selling players. For years other clubs took the same stance with us now the boot is on the other foot. If this is what the new look West Ham looks like I say bring it on!

    What debt?
Not saying Fernandes and Summerville are not key players but ambition is likely to play a part.

Loads of money no wonder they can think about keeping key players.
Not to say Fernandez and Summerville are not key players but ambition calls.
