defoeSky sports News claim West Ham are prepared to increase bid after Sunderland rejected a £6 million offer for Jermain Defoe.

Sky say West Ham have asked Sunderland at what price they will sell  their priceless striker.

Sky Sports news reporter Kaveh Solkehol delivered an update on the Hammers’ pursuit of their former striker after tabling a reported £6million second bid.

Solkehol claimed on his personal Twitter account that West Ham are ready to pull out all the stops to land the 34-year-old this month and refurbish an attack that has failed to fire this season.

The experienced correspondent reported that the Londoners are so keen to sign Defoe they have “told Sunderland to name their price” and “will pay what it takes to get the deal done”.

Defoe has scored 11 goals in 21 appearances this season. He has scored 33 times for Sunderland since signing for the club from Toronto in January 2015.
