A Claret and Hugh poll of nearly 1,300 readers has given a huge vote of confidence in Manuel Pellegrini.
The poll asked who should manage West Ham going forward with a list of twenty names including the current manager.
The 66-year-old Chilean manager picked up over 26% of the vote to get the largest percentage of any name listed.
Bournemouth’s manager Eddie Howe was in second place with 23% with the freshly sacked
Former Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez polled nearly 10% with Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard polling 3%.
All other manager names polled less than 3% each with former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce in last place polling just over 1% of the vote

A huge vote of confidence?
Barely one in four of the Hammers fans who voted backed Pellegrini to remain as manager.
It is not true to say you can prove anything with statistics, but it is certainly true that the same stats can often be interpreted in different ways!
Sean I think you are missing the point here. It’s not the 26% that shows that the fans are behind him, rather the 74% that seems to be sourcing options elsewhere. It is scary.
OK ,he was top but 74% voted for the others. I don’t call that a huge vote of confidence ! That is not to say that I want him sacked, though.
Not sure how that’s a vote if confidence..26 for 74 against…let’s hope he goes down
Soon I ment
I suppose Sean put it that way was because with som many contenders it was a deent little victory given the current position
I admit I was rather surprised he only just scraped to first past the post. I thought opinion among the supporters as reflected in the comments on here was more strongly in his favour.
Trouble is 64 losing is not good but it’s the way we have lost those games ..like just surrendering each week not working one bit and just plain lazy dross each week…its not like we have been unlucky we haven’t even competed..that’s why most want him gone imo because I just don’t think he can get them going …
