Former technical Director Tim Steidten left West Ham just over a year ago, under something of a cloud after falling out with successive head coaches and ‘quitting’in February 2025  after spending two and a half years at the London Stadium following success in a similar role in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen.

Finally gainfully employed again, Steidten joined Bundesliga side FC Köln as their new Director of Squad Planning and Recruitment last week.

Technical Director Tim Steidten was reported as falling out with first Moyes then Lopetegui

Tim Steidten and his brother, Moritz, reportedly received a package worth just under £1 million per year, with an approximate combined monthly income of £83,000.

He and his brother are thought to have remained on the West Ham payroll, but that was thought to have been limited to 12 months due to a common contract clause, meaning the £996,000 compensation expired last month.

When Claret and Hugh asked a club source whether Steidten’s recent appointment would save the club any money, the blunt reply quickly came back “No!”

    A QUESTION:

If Arsenal win the EPL or Champ League do the Hammerz receive a Declan add-on payment?

    • John Ayris says:

I think the bonuses were triggered by Arsenal qualifying for the champions league (up to 5 times) not in winning anything.

Total £5m add ons, £1m per qualification.

Thanks for the info about add-ons. All money is useful in the club´s financial predicament!
