Pellegrini told reporters post match: “We never thought that before the game it would be easy. Teams that are fighting against relegation always give their all for every ball from the first minute. From the beginning of the week, we talked with the players that we must have a high pace to beat Fulham. We started so so bad, we conceded one goal and a clear chance for another before that bur Lukasz Fabianski saved, they had a shot near the post too so I think that after those ten strange minutes, it was very strange, we dominated the game.
We scored three goals, created many chances and Fulham didn’t have many. It was a good, very good performance from the team apart from those first ten minutes.
On Hernandez’s goal
“From my position on the bench I really didn’t see. Also after seeing the TV, it is a handball but nobody complained from Fulham very long, they were not sure.
I don’t think it was the goal that decided the game, we scored three and their goalkeeper saved four or five more chances for us to continue scoring.
On Lanzini’s return
“Manuel has worked very hard during the last weeks, but these two last ones with us he demonstrated to me that he was not afraid of playing again and he did it very well.”
