For all the calm composure of manager Manuel Pellegrini he takes absolutely no prisoners as we saw when Declan Rice was taken off at half time at Liverpool and the likes of Sanchez dropped immediately after an error against Wolves.
This afternoon – and totally justifiably – it was Masuaku’s turn to be left in the dressing room after a first half horror show which ensured that any real chance of saving anything from this game in the second half was gone.
It was Brighton all over again and is totally unacceptable at this level with the odds stacked mercilessly against you in the shape of Manchester City.
It was hard to tell whether he missed his kick as the ball came in for the first goal but the third was caused because he was completely out of position and an onlooker in the final stages of the build up.

A manager is only as good as his players and sadly Pellegrini has Arthur who, frankly, will be lucky to see out the winter such as been his poor defensive performances and non existent attacking potency.
He isn’t good enough and the change needs to be made!
Read the post carefully. It doesn’t call for him to be sacked. It doesn’t even deny that things may improve. It just says nothing much has changed. I could have added that the Man C home result fits the pattern of recent seasons. You are entitled to your opinion that this view of Pellegrini is rash. I am entitled to my view that with a third of the season gone the facts say that there is little sign of improvement. Maybe those refusing to look those facts in the face are being complacent. Maybe they can’t look them in the face because
their heads are in the sand.
Wow. Fug & Hammer… He’s had less than half a season at the helm and you’re already ready to stick the knives in…?!? I find that a bit ridiculous. I think it’s fair to say that he bought well in the Summer, but he didn’t have the money or the time to buy an entire squad. All of the players we’re mentioning are players he inherited. He needs at least another Summer and next season before a judgement can be made with any kind of insight.
Still, making rash judgements on people and slating them on social media is par for the course these days, isn’t it?
A bit harsh about the manager Fugs maybe? But I don’t see Pellegrini as the Messiah either. Reckon we are a couple of points up on where we were the same stage in the last two seasons. Hardly a revolution is it. Relegation battle again. Injury crisis again. Excuses again..

Can’t argue with that Hugh – but I can’t undersatnd why we didn’t start with Cresswell in the first place – I would also have started with Noble in place of Diangana – I thought that Antonio did well (yes he did miss when he hit the post but his strength was good)
Diangana will need time to develop without pressure – and now might be better off being used as a sub
Also I would rather have brought on Carroll than Hernandes who is too easily bullied off the ball – and brought on anyone instaed of Perez
I don’t like to keep digging individual players out, and in fact I feel very sorry for him, but if he doesn’t go soon, then our best players will go soon.
Imagine the frustration they suffer seeing their considerable efforts being wasted by numerous soft goals being scored against us.
Obviously we need not just one but two left backs and a back up for sab too. A mid attacker a defensive mid and two strikers. I think a below par performance against a world class winger such as Sterling is understandable. But he did not care. He did not try. He did not want to be their. His attitude was unacceptable and indefensible. I never want to see him wear our shirt again. Number 1 priority has to be a LB in January.
Doesn’t it beg the question then hugh, why pellegrini is playing him? We all know he can’t defend yet pellegrini seems to be the only one who can’t see it! So Pellegrini should also take some of the blame for today’s result as he picks the players, especially when you have a capable reliable left fullback like Aaron Cresswell sitting there, who is a better all round defender.
Yes it does and I was shocked to see him out there but I think it was part of an offensive plan which misfired badly on the back of his errors. To be fair MP had no hesitation in hooking him
