West Ham barometer finally rises but still a long way to go

The West Ham Barometer has finally risen from the low of minus nine but remains in a minus position with much more work to do before we are on par with last season.

The barometer designed by Andy Dennis tracks scores against comparative games last season like for like to give a true representation of where we are.

Chelsea beat the Hammers 2-0 last season so this fixture gained us three points on last season.  Next up is Wolves which was a three-nil loss last season meaning it is possible to get back to minus three on Wednesday with a win.

However Arsenal was a home win last season so a win would just match the previous result,  Southampton away was also an away win meaning if we win the next three games we would be stuck on minus three.

The fourth game is against Crystal Palace which was a draw last season so a win with them will gain back two points.

Should we do the impossible and win the next four games back to back we will still be minus one on the West Ham barometer.
