The majority of West Ham supporters taking part in a Claret and Hugh think the boos on Saturday were aimed at Marko Arnautovic. In total 533 (43.16%) said Arnie was the target of the boo boys while 232 (18.79%) the boos were reserved Lucas Perez coming on in his place. Another 196 (15.87%) said the booing was for manager Manuel Pellegrini while the remainder 273 (22.19%) said it was a mixture of all of them.
Marko is used to supporters singing his name and the praise but looked frustrated and uncomfortable as he left the field of play.
Pellegrini asked about the boos in his post press conference and told reporters “I think that, as every player who is not at their best, Marko did not have the best game. When Samir Nasri came as a playmaker, he gave more balls to the attackers. The complete team played very bad during most part of the game, conceding two goals from set pieces and after that, the complete team improved and we changed the score.”
