West Ham are understood to have scouted former Chelsea winger and current RC Strasbourg forward Diego Moreira, Claret & Hugh have learned this afternoon.

The 21-year-old, who primarily operates on the left wing, came up in conversation while discussing in-form Irish striker Troy Parrott and recent claims linking him to the Hammers.

The rapid and tricky wideman—who holds both Portuguese and Belgian passports—is believed to be of interest to West Ham manager Nuno Espírito Santo.

When we asked our top transfer source whether the club had been scouting Parrott closely, the response was emphatic: “No chance. Forget these names like Parrott and Mainoo, it’s not happening.”

Moreira watched, but no move imminent

The source continued: “They’ve looked at Diego Moreira in France, but it’s just a look. There are targets in Brazil, but Mainoo is likely to move to Serie A or stay at Man U. He is not going to West Ham.”

The comments appear to shut down speculation linking West Ham with Parrott and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, while confirming tentative interest in Moreira as the club continues to explore options.

Whether the scouting leads to a formal approach remains to be seen, but for now, the focus appears to be elsewhere—and definitely not on Parrott. This very much seems like one for next season with priorities being a striker and central defender. That said, if Luis Guilherme does leave in January it could be an option.

i hope they don’t waste time on wingers and midfielders, we are ok there. Striker and centre back should be the priority
