West Ham Eye Pre-Season trip accross the pond

West Ham United could be heading to the United States for a pre-season tournament this summer, according to reports from Chronicle Live.

The proposed tournament would see the Hammers face off against Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Newcastle United across a week-long series, culminating on August 3rd. The potential locations for the matches are Jackson, Connecticut, and Tampa Bay.

However, participation by all four teams remains unconfirmed due to their ongoing commitments in the Premier League. Everton is currently battling relegation, while West Ham and Wolves are still in the race for European qualification spots. Additionally, Newcastle already has a post-season friendly scheduled in Australia for May.

This wouldn’t be West Ham’s first foray into an international pre-season tour.  Last summer, following their Europa Conference League victory, the Hammers embarked on a pre-season trip to Australia.

Steidten will be a huge help to David Moyes and Leverkusen won't be happy to draw the Hammers

West Ham eye pre-season trip but will Moyes or Steidten decide?

With several details still being finalised, including team confirmations, an official announcement regarding West Ham’s participation is expected soon. Currently, West Ham’s focus is likely on their domestic commitments in the Premier League and their European adventure.

The biggest question will be who ultimately decides whether West Ham make the trip. In the absence of clarity surrounding David Moyes future, perhaps the final call will rest with Director of Football Tim Steidten.
