The Irons has set their sights on Braga’s striker Simon Banza, according to Calciomercato.com. This move adds the Hammers to the growing list of clubs interested in the in-form forward.
Banza has been on fire in Portugal since joining Braga on loan in 2021. He’s racked up an impressive 37 goals in 87 appearances, a record that has him seeking a bigger challenge.
The striker’s impressive form hasn’t gone unnoticed. Italian clubs Roma and Fiorentina are also reportedly interested in acquiring Banza.
West Ham‘s interest comes amidst a managerial change at the club. Incoming manager Julen Lopetegui is expected to receive significant backing in the transfer market. Lopetegui, reportedly frustrated with the limitations he faced at his previous club Wolves, is likely to welcome a more active approach from the Hammers.
Banza’s credentials are undeniable. He showcased his talent on the biggest stage with an assist against Real Madrid in the Champions League. He’s also a proven scorer in domestic competitions, having enjoyed a red-hot streak of nine goals in just seven consecutive league games this season. With a total of 21 goals in 27 league matches, Banza is a highly sought-after striker.
Braga might face a difficult task holding onto Banza this summer, with Mr Steidten no doubt dusting off his passport.
Woukd that be the terrible Netherlands league where we got Kudus and Alvarez?
Why on earth are we supposedly looking at yet more overseas players when we have our own Academy and several leagues full of homegrown players on our doorstep?
Yeah yeah yeah, the sleazy slug wants to buy cheap through Salthouse and do deals that benefit him and will moan there’s a premium on English players. But look where buying crap from abroad has got us on the whole.
Belgium is a terrible league and so is the Netherlands for that matter. What’s the point of taking a chance on players who may very well not be suitable for the EPL like Aguerd etc?
Oh yes, I forgot, Salthouse has probably got his mits on this tripe and the sleazy slug will believe him – probably like he fell for Pellegrini’s spiel and now the Spanish Moyes cos Real Madrid is attached to his name despite being an utter failure there.
Sell up sleazy slug but that’ll be a ‘careful what you wish for’ too as he’d sell to benefit HIM and not give two ****s about West Ham.
