West Ham fan banned for life after video emerges

|

A West Ham supporter has been banned by the club for life after a video of him emerged making a racist comment at the London Stadium early last season.

In a statement made on the club’s official Twitter account yesterday morning, the Hammers said “Last night the club was made aware of a disgusting video of a West Ham fan making racist remarks at a match early last season. Today, the club handed evidence to the police and banned an individual for life from our stadium. No place for it at our club.”

The zero-tolerance approach has been welcomed by the vast majority of West Ham fans pleased that the club took the led before any involvement of the FA or Kick it Out.

The individual who has not been named now faces a police investigation and possible criminal charge after the video went viral on Social media and was widely condemned.
