marseilleWest Ham have joined the race for defensive midfielder Mario Lemina, according to the French media.

Lemina is with Ligue 1 team Marseille at the moment, having joined them from Lorient in 2013 for 4 million euros. French paper La Provence have claimed West Ham have joined West Brom to show interest in the talented young midfielder.

Liverpoool, Southampton and Newcastle have all been previously linked with the 21 year old.

Born in Gabon, Africa, Lemina has played for the French under 20 and 21 teams. In 2015 he was called by the Gabon national team to participate in the 2015 African Cup of Nations but he refused his call-up.

During a Ligue 1 match in February 2015 Lemina was sent off for punching a fellow player in the groin.
