West Ham Plot Shock Angel Gomes Transfer Hijack

West Ham United have been linked with a surprise move for Angel Gomes, according to a report from Hammers News earlier today.

As many will remember, Gomes was heavily linked with a switch to the London Stadium during the summer. Intermediaries approached the England midfielder on West Ham’s behalf as his contract at Lille was nearing its expiry.

That interest culminated in then-manager Graham Potter personally calling Gomes in an attempt to persuade him to join the Hammers.

A Second Chance in East London?

Gomes ultimately decided against the move, opting instead to join Marseille. However, it is fair to say the move has not worked out as hoped, with the midfielder struggling to make the desired impact.

As a result, the former Manchester United player has recently been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to Hammers News, that is precisely the deal West Ham are now attempting to hijack, with the club keen to persuade Gomes that a move to east London would be the better option.

Whether this latest link develops into something more concrete remains to be seen, but it would certainly represent an unexpected twist late in the window.

If Sullivan’s got anything 2 do with the signing, we can kiss-it-goodbye. especially if he goes in with his normal ”Lowball-Offer” and give Gomes some incentive 2 join us like a 5 grand a week pay-rise. give him something 2 think about. and of course a get out clause that if we do go down he can get out.

We should have no desire to be the destination for the next loan that doesn’t work out as hoped. Marseille are no mugs and nor should we be.

Suspicious of players that have turned down Westham . How much do Marseille want to profit on their free signing ? Why does Gomes want to join Wolves a guaranteed Championship club next season ? Gomes appears to be slight and fragile and so no thank you .

This would be a really interesting move, he is usually the deep lying playmaker so even if we don’t maximise him this season Fernandes is getting sold to City in the summer and he will be a decent replacement, he is also cover in case Fernandes gets injured, plus he gives us the option to play possession based football more so than our existing options.
