From high hopes when West Ham signed him in the Summer of 2024, to being sold for a huge loss, merely to get him out of the door: Hardly an auspicious career move for West Ham’s one-time star defender Jean Clair Todibo. The former Barcelona man was plucked from Juventus’ grasp – so we were told- by Tim Steidten in what seemed a major coup for the Hammers’ technical director at the time.
In another case of the football fates turning full circle, it seems Todibo may be Juventus-bound this summer as the unhappy, unwanted fallen star looks to firm up an exit, having refused to play for Nuno after that acrimonious substitution last season.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Jean-Clair Todibo is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a centre-back in the ongoing transfer window, and they have set their sights on the 26-year-old West Ham United defender.
Per Calciomercato, West Ham’s asking price of €17-20 million is not prohibitive for Juventus, with the figure “well within their reach” amid their attempts to sign Todibo. Which will be about half of the £36 million (approx) which the Hammers were obligated to for out for Todibo one year ago after his loan deal triggered the permanent sale. Even allowing for a season of amortisation that will convert to a book loss of about £15-£17 million.
At least he’ll be someone else’s problem then.

Maybe the contract lawyers at WHU should put a clause in all future contracts, refuse to play don’t get paid.
Completely agree Chris, I think he fell out with our 2 managers before Nuno, another disaster from the Steidten era, did he really have a look at the player, blimey after 5 mins over a drink in a bar you’d suss he’s a complete loony tunes, and on the pitch,very erratic
He’s only on a four year contract Martin so the amortisation is high.
Cost £34.2m Amortisation started with his permanent registration 1st July 2025, so one year amortisation at £8.5m
Value on books £25.5m ish
It remains to be seen what he brings in but £25.5m would be the break even point.

You can’t trust the French. End of! Disasi is another example, he was loved by most of us & made welcome yet he’s dithering over a permanent move? There would no doubt be financial incentives if he signed in the shape of a decent wage & a whopping bonus if we get promoted yet he’s still dithering which can only mean he don’t really give a sh*t despite the welcome & love he received. 🏴⚒⚒⚒

It’s been suggested that club want to use him as a part swap.
