West Ham Ready to Allow Ward Prowse Transfer to Relegation Rival

West Ham United are believed to be continuing discussions over the future of James Ward-Prowse following this weekend’s Premier League fixture against Sunderland.

Relegation rivals Burnley remain keenly interested in Ward-Prowse, although it is not yet clear whether any potential move would be a loan or a permanent transfer.

As reported last week, Ward-Prowse has been spending significant time training away from the first team, only linking up with Nuno Espírito Santo’s senior squad for 11-v-11 training matches.

Nuno Looking to Reshape Midfield

It is understood that West Ham have been actively looking to move Ward-Prowse on since Nuno’s arrival, but interest from Burnley has only emerged relatively recently.

The former Southampton midfielder was previously offered the chance to return to the south coast on loan, but rejected the opportunity, unwilling to drop down into the Championship.

Ideally, the Hammers would like to keep Guido Rodriguez despite interest from La Liga. The Argentine midfielder has impressed with cameos off the bench in recent games and unlike Ward Prowse, is likely to get more time on the pitch this season.
