West Ham have not offered Harry Redknapp the job as Hammers manager.

That follows earlier reports from a top source confirming that Nuno Espírito Santo will not be sacked as Irons boss, despite a flurry of dramatic stories in the mainstream media earlier today.

My partner in crime Geo over at Hammers Chat spoke to Redknapp at lunchtime, and ‘Aitch quickly dismissed speculation that he had been offered the West Ham job.

Speaking on Hammers Chat Patreon, Redknapp joked: “Geo, you’ve got more chance of getting the West Ham job than me.”

Redknapp Laughs Off Return Talk

Redknapp went on to say that he believes Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley are likely to go down, with survival coming down to West Ham and Nottingham Forest. However, he did express concern that Bournemouth could yet be dragged into trouble, especially with Antoine Semenyo potentially leaving in the January transfer window.

The Redknapp-to-West Ham link was also rubbished by another source who has known Harry for nearly 40 years. They told Claret & Hugh: “That’s crazy. There is no way that would happen, one million percent. Harry would go back — but he’ll never be asked.”

To be fair it’s not the manager it’s the players – not at Premiership standard due to past mistakes in the transfer market. You could put these players in any position on the pitch and it would make not a jot of difference.

  • Darkhorse says:

Rumours like these should not be published. cause I believe they are unsettling for the players and staff and may be contributing to what’s happening on the pitch

    • Gonzo says:

The rumour was already out there this is a denial of the rumour from the horses mouth.

Two exclusives today, one saying the manager will not be sacked (after Talk Sport ran a story saying he would be) this which rubbished claims Harry was getting the job.

  • Hammeroo says:

‘Arry couldn’t do any worse than Nuno when it comes to both team selection and tactical substitutions. And he could do a job wheelin’ and dealin’ in the transfer market as well. Ok, it’s never going to happen but if only he was twenty years younger!

  • Ian Bishop says:

Would Have him back tomorrow !!
Understands how West Ham fans want to see football being played .

  • John Ayris says:

Harry is right. Our only chance is a Forest or Bournemouth collapse either of which are possible. It doesn’t look like we’ll be picking up any significant number of points any time soon.

We need better performances from both team and manager for things to change.
