West Ham are set to receive a £17M bonus in the form of a transfer fee for on-loan star Said Benrahma, who is thriving in Ligue 1.

The Algerian winger enjoyed an excellent weekend as he scored a goal and grabbed an assist to bolster Lyon’s European hopes in a 3-2 win over Thilo Kehrer’s Monaco.

Benrahma’s loan deal couldn’t have gone any better following his move to Lyon. He has started all of the club’s recent games and is being hailed as a major success. So much so that reports indicate the French club will be looking to activate their option to buy.

When Benrahma signed from West Ham, Lyon were battling relegation but are now aiming to qualify for European competition next season. An incredible turnaround.

The winger has settled well in France and has been full of praise for his manager, teammates, and a style of football to which he is clearly suited. Benrahma has spoken of his admiration for the managerial skills of Lyon boss Pierre Sage, who is credited with getting the best from his Hammers loanee.

      • Hamble Hammer says:

Not likely to happen because we wiil probably never qualify with a league position we can’t even sort out a new Manager and all the talk about players leaving its never easy reading but I’ve only been supporting them 58 years what do I know.

Try not to call people names please folks. Maybe act like you would if you were face to face with someone rather than like a kid in the school yard.

Perfectly possible to make a point about football without the name calling.

I have been a supporter for over 50yrs I like benrahma but moyses had a problem with him I don’t know why but it’s our loss good luck to the guy hope he really succeeds in France

              • Get says:

Problem was he starting running at players and trying different things in an attacking way. Moyes of course would prefer sideways move and ensure he stays in a defensive role. How dare he try and score and run at players. Tut tut Said fancy trying something like that

          • Amin says:

            Moyes who?

    • Trevor Austin says:

      Fair play enjoy said 👍

  • Terence Greenaway says:

Benrahma is a talented player and it’s no surprise he is doing well. Unfortunately Moyes did not recognise that but persistently
substituted him with Fornals who in my opinion would do better on strictly ,a player who rarely tackled but danced side to side standing between an opposing player with the ball and his team mate hoping for a loose ball

Another player that the Moyes system destroyed

  • Marc amos says:

I have supported them since the great days of Devonshire and bonds and I am happy where we are now but I just wish that we could get it over with
