West Ham Sets Sights on Free Agent Left-Back Juan Miranda

|

West Ham United looks to be bolstering their defensive options this summer with a focus on signing Spanish left-back Juan Miranda.

According to HITC, West Ham scouts watched Miranda in Real Betis’ recent clash against Celta Vigo. The 24-year-old has been on West Ham’s radar since January and is seen as a potential replacement for Aaron Cresswell.

Miranda, available on a free transfer in the summer, has attracted interest from Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Brentford. His age, experience, and free agent status make him a desirable target for several clubs.

A product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, Miranda has gained experience throughout Europe. After his debut for Barcelona in 2018, he had loan spells at Schalke and Real Betis before signing permanently with Betis in 2021.

Cresswell’s contract expires this summer, and his recent struggles against Bayer Leverkusen highlight the need for a replacement. While a player-coach role at West Ham has been mentioned, a new starting left-back appears more likely.

With Miranda available on a free transfer and Cresswell’s future uncertain, West Ham seems determined to secure Miranda’s signature. His experience and potential make him a valuable addition to the West Ham squad
