West Ham’s fingers are firmly crossed on duo

West Ham‘s fingers are firmly crossed today on duo Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen as they head for scans on injuries sustained against Bristol City in the third round FA Cup clash yesterday (Sun).

Paqueta is suffering a recurrence of the tendon injury at the back of his knee whilst Jarrod twisted his ankle and looked in pain at the end of the game.

After remaining relatively fee of problems so far this season things are starting to look more and more dodgy on the injury front with our two top players the victims of problems.

And with a third – Mohammed Kudus – away at Afcon along with Nayef Aguerd, anxiety is starting to bite as we approach critical games against Sheffield United, Bournemouth, Manchester United and Arsenal.

On top of the injuries to the big two we have Mavropanos with a problem and captain Zouma unavailable to train every day or play two games a week given his suspect knees.

A source also explained the club will be forced to keep a very careful eye on Afcon where – as is always the case on international events – they are haunted by further injury worries.

Meanwhile Kudus looks set to be involved for Ghana on Sunday when the team meet Cape Verde with Nayef Aguerd likely to be involved for Morocco against Tanzania next Wednesday.
