West Ham’s window dilemma

|

There is a small misapprehension among some that West Ham are not in a position to start chasing their summer targets until they have raised the £105 million from selling Declan Rice,

Whilst there is an element of truth in that it is also about reducing squad numbers from the 24 currently involved given Manu Lanzini’s departure. That’s the dilemma,

There is also a feeling that the only money the Hammers available will come from the Rice sale and that of others such as Ben Johnson which again us not the case.

The Hammers, as we explained yesterday, could in fact raise around £150 million but the board is determined to ensure that as much as is required is made available with the arrival of the new Technical director.

The board have never been slow to put in cash themselves when required and will definitely do so again should it be in this window.
