A West Ham blog discussing England’s up and coming World Cup quarter final: But for a reason.
There are still a couple of hours to go before The Three Lions take on Norway for a place in the 2026 World Cup semi final.
Time to climb on board with Thomas Tuchel’s attempt to take his side beyond Gareth Southgate’s creditable quarter final and semi final defeats in 2028 and 2022.
And as an intriguing sub-plot, West Ham are looking seriously at one of Norway’s players tonight – so watch out for Patrick Berg tonight.
According to well connected journalist Graeme Bailey, writing in teamtalk, the Hammers are one of several admirers of the Bodo/Glimt midfielder:
“Patrick Berg is ready to leave Bodo/Glimt for the second time in his career, with TEAMtalk understanding a host of English clubs including West Ham and Coventry City are now tracking the Norway international after his outstanding performances for club and country.

Patrik Berg – he’s the one on the left!
The 28-year-old midfielder has enjoyed the finest season of his career, following up Bodo/Glimt’s superb Champions League campaign with an impressive World Cup showing that has only strengthened his growing reputation across Europe.”
One to watch as England bid for the semi finals: Just hope he doesn’t impress too much by scoring or setting up a Haaland winner.
I’m pretty sure he would ask Haaland if West Ham are a club worth going to and I’m sure the answer will be , No especially now we are relegated
Just about to watch the match ‘Come on England 🏴 ‘
