Antonio deal update

antonio2212_726Michail Antonio’s new deal will be put before him at the end of the season.

There has been some concern since the news was first reported that the ongoing delay had put the situation in jeopardy but CandH understands the club will attend to the issue once a “tricky” season has come to an end.

We have been assured there are no problems  and were told: “We will definitely be offering him new and improved terms but it can wait until the summer because everybody is focused on the remainder of the season.”

He added: “It’s been a tricky old campaign one way and another and we want no distractions at this stage. Everybody is aware that a deal will be offered.”

The position may have been slightly confused by manager Slaven Bilic’s comments in press conferences that it will be done “soon.”

We were told: “That’ possible but then the word ‘soon’ can mean different things to different people can’t it?”
