Slaven Bilic could have an embarrassment of riches to pick from when he settles down to selecting the team to meet Newcastle at the weekend.
Reports from inside the camp are that whilst Winston Reid is unavailable others on the way back will see Bilic able to pick close to his best team.
Cheik Kouyate came through last night’s Cup tie at Cheltenham with no issues and Manu Lanzini could be available to take his place on the bench.
We are told too that there is even an outside chance of Andy Carroll being available for the game against his former team whilst Diafra Sakho will be looking for a start.
Newcastle have had their worst start to a season since Ruud Gullit was in charge during the 1998-99 season and with Michail Antonio also fit and rested from last night’s game, Bilic will be looking for his first points of the season ahead of the international break.
Hope Bilic realises that Sakho and Hernandez are so far ahead of Carroll and he only uses Carroll as a sub with two up top;
But what a great sub to have , johnham1 . As an impact sub he’s right up there .
You really think he will play 2up front in the prem .. first time for everything I spose
My guess the club have put out the ‘rumour’ that Caroll may be on the bench as pure hype for the game, to drum up a bit more interest in a game that looks to be between 2 clubs heading for mid table if they’re lucky….
Yea two up front w Marko out would be smart but so would a back 3 maybe a 3-5-2. With Kouyate back have Collins Rice Ogbonna At back.and I would play Byram but i imagine we will see a 4-3-2-1.
We only see a 4-4-2 when we are down w 20 mins to go.
I’m hoping 3-5-2 but can’t see it and why the hell would he play Byram over Zabaleta?
Adrian
Zabaleta – Collins – Rice
Antonio – Kouyate – Lanzini – Obiang – Cresswell
Hernandez – Sackho
I’d like to see the following team play against the Toon!
Hart
Collins Kouyate Obgonna
Zaba. Rice obiang cresswell
Antonio Hernandez Ayew/ (Lanzini if fit)
