The bookmakers are far from convinced that Dimi Payet will be on his way from West Ham in the winter transfer window.
The cynical-minded may believe the player’s decision to give an interview freely naming Arsenal as a possible destination and declaring himself “ambitious” was conveniently timed.
However the idea of West Ham playing through the remainder of this season without their head honcho is clearly not on the club’s agenda.
And the bookies appear to have accepted that the club’s position is one they believe:
The odds being quoted on SkyBet of him still being at the London Stadium after February 3 were a hefty 1/4 although once the implications of his latest interview are considered they could change.
As is always the case, the bookies add that the odds do not include him returning on loan after doing a permanent deal elsewhere, unlikely though that would obviously be!
In the old days a player would be fearful of the supporters reaction if they made this sort of comment. I don’t care how good you are you don’t make these sorts of comment. As far as I am concerned he can f*** off to Arsenal.
If he wants to go elsewhere then let him . He’s not the only player than needs to wake up .
There are a lot of players who are just as good , if not better than Payet . He needs to show us his willingness to fight . But , every player needs Thier team mates to put in a shift otherwise it becomes a case of ” why bother ” . For inspiration he need look no further than Carroll , Antonio & Creswell . That should do it for anybody .
If he can’t find the interest to up his game then let him go . But to France , not a Premiership rival . Get it sorted Bilic . Time is running out .
Seems to me that he’s going down the same path as he did at Marseille and the French national team before he came to us by thinking he’s bigger than the club. Well he’s shown this season that he’s not and if he continues giving these half hearted performances no team anywhere will want him. Flashes of brilliance are of no use to this team as it stands now we need committed hard working players who will play together as a team not like what we have witnessed against Burnley and Hull last week.
I’m begging to wonder if perhaps it’s Payet who is the cuckoo in the dressing room bringing everyone else down with him?
