David Gold has confirmed that Andy Carroll’s injury is unlikely to keep him out of the action once club football returns from the international break.

ClaretandHugh revealed last week that club insiders had explained the injury was only minor but Gold has today tweeted that the player will be back after the international break.

We had explained that the player had bruising on an ankle following a challenge in the Norwich City game and this morning the co chairman confirmed the player is ok for a comeback if required.

And he added that Enner Valencia is not far behind him and will use the international break to hopefully reach full fitness in time for the match against Chelea on the 24th of the month.

Gold revealed both pieces of news on Twitter although Slaven Bilic has made it clear he won’t be rushing Carroll back to action.

Valencia on the other hand has also been out since the start of pre-season with a knee injury but is now  back in training.

Carroll should be fit to face Crystal Palace in just under two weeks.
