DG makes a Europa League pledge

|

davidgoldsummerDavid Gold has promised the funds will be made available to compete well in Europe.

The co-chairman – delighted that Manchester United provided a route into the Europa League for the Irons – declared: “We will build a squad to cope with the Premier League and Europe.

“We will find the money to ensure that we have a squad deep enough to cope on all levels. These are great days for the club and we are looking forward to Europe with great expectation.

“I know there will be some who say we haven’t the strength in depth but we will do what’s required to deepen the squad

“We also have some very good young players who may well be used in the early stages and we will do what’s required to help the manager with his requirements.

We are grateful to Manchester United for doing us a favour by winning the FA Cup Final – now everything is back in our hands.”

Shame the ref didn’t do us a favour by cancelling out the equalising goal at Old Trafford for the foul on Randolf ..

That’s history now , Ian . Although everyone agrees with you .
I just hope we don’t make the same mistake again in the Europa League by under valuing the competition and over valuing our younger players . I know we wanted to finish as high up in Premiership as possible by not having to play on all four fronts , but this time is different and we should really go for it . The youngsters can used with caution in a few Premiership games .

I think this is why we need to Keep Enner and Obiang. I would release Song, Moses and Emmenike. I would also release O’Brien. I don’t believe for one minute West Ham will let James Tomkins leave. If we get 4 top quality players in – to replace the above then I would be delighted. My list of top players would be Bolasie, Lukaka, that French lad looks serious, Tore and then a RB as I don’t think Byran is ready. I would listen to offers for Andy Carroll if we got Lukaka.
