Martin Samuelsen has had his future settled for next season and it’s Peterborough United’s director of football Barry Fry who has decided what’s best for him.

Barry was the guest of the two Davids at the Manchester United FA Cup replay when he spoke of the Norwegian teenager’s next step and said: “He needs a Championship loan.

Speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh he said: “We had hoped it would be us up there but it’s not to be now and he is better than Peterborough United. so I told the Davids he should be found a club in the second tier.

“I spoke to Terry Westley today and told him the same thing and I think that’s what is possibly going to happen. His future is not with us.

“I also explained that I think if they decide to take the course I have suggested they should only loan him out from August to January because I really think he will come back and be in serious contention for a Hammers first team place with that experience behind him.”

Makes sense to me.Fry knows his way round the lower leagues & his advise seems pretty sound imo 🙂

Good read and makes sense. When is Bilic going to introduce others like Oxford for regular game time? I know I sound like a broken record but you only have to see what Klopp has done at Liverpool.I believe only 1 point behind us at present.I have a sense that Bilic could be a bit like Hippo (dare I say it) by ignoring the youth and playing old warriors like Noble,Ginge etc all the time.I stand corrected.

Klopp played youngsters because the more experienced players weren’t performing. You mention Noble and Ginge like they haven’t both had the best seasons of their careers! Why would we drop them at that point to try and bring through a 17 year old who will have plenty of opportunities over the next year or so?

I think a team like Bradford, if they go up,would be good.
We seem to have a good relationship with Bradford with Cullen and Burke having outstanding seasons there .
The medical team will have a good look at him over the summer. He’s a tall gangly lad who will need guidance over his fitness and diet.
Hopefully he’ll get some game time in the friendly’s lack last year.

His only downfall as a player is he is so small,so that extra 6 months filling out and some extra weight training might make the DIffrence,
On Sunday watching Lanzini player a deeper role collecting the ball and not wasting it setting up attacks was better then Noble who makes some really bad passing decisions at times but like Samulsun he does not have the warrior attitude of Noble,
This could be the place for the Jewel other wise he and Payet crowed each other out,
Samulsun will be like a great Jan Signing if he does go elsewhere first,
Milton Wommbles play good football and so do Brighton if they don’t come up and both would benefit from him going there but please no Orient,Brentwood,Charlton to busy worrying about our new ground to play football

I’m going to make a prediction here that will be shot down in flames I’m sure but I bet Samuelsen doesn’t cut the mustard & makes only a handful of appearances for us.Now back to my monastery 🙂
