Gold gives fitness update

|

West-Ham-United-co-owner-David-GoldDavid Gold has given an update on Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Arthur Masuaku…but unfortunately it tells us little more than we already knew.

Carroll hasn’t been involved since suffering a knee injury in a Europa League clash with Astra Giurgiu in August, while strike partner Sakho is getting up to match speed after having had no pre-season training.

Left-back Masuaku has been sidelined since suffering an injury against Accrington Stanley in September but Gold has taken to social media to provide fans with an update on their condition.

The absence of the two front men has been a cause of ongoing anxiety and frustration for the Hammers faitful but Gold has attempted to ease the pain.

However, his tweet merely explains: “Arthur Masuaku, Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll are all progressing well and should be available after the international break. dg.

As a result it seems likely that £20 million record signing Andrew Ayew is liely to feature in a front role against Stoke at the weekend.
