Hammers agree terms for Randolph

darren-randolphMiddlesbrough have tonight announced on their website that they have agreed a deal which will see Darren Randolph sign for the club.

The website statement says: “The club have agreed a deal in principle with West Ham United to sign goalkeeper Darren Randolph, subject to a medical and personal terms.

The Republic of Ireland international will travel to Rockliffe Park on Saturday in anticipation of finalising the move.

The 30-year-old will bring a wealth of experience, having made almost 350 career appearances since making his debut for Charlton Athletic in the Premier League 10 years ago.

Randolph, who had a number of loan spells during his time as a young player at Charlton, has since been with Motherwell and Birmingham City, before joining the Hammers.

The Irishman, who has 21 caps for his country and played in every game in Euro 2016 for the Republic, made 22 Premier League appearances for West Ham last season.”

ClaretandHugh wishes the stopper every success in his move to the North east.

  1. Hopefully keep Adrian now a Pole said 77% would rather sell Randy. And Hart needs Competition to push him and can’t just rely on trott. Wish Randy all the luck Monk is a good Gaffer and he will be #1 right away and looked to hold his Ireland spot over Westwood. With Clissen saying no to Palace they will be after Adrian very hard as well as Newcastle

  2. I can still see Adrian going but I’m hoping not.

  3. I think it’s only fair that hart and Adrian have to battle it out for the jersey…they are both as good as each other imho …good luck to Randolph

  4. One of them had to go and it was always going to be Randolph . I wish him all the best . He made some big saves amongst those errors .
I agree with aykay in that Adrian & Hart are currently equally as good . They have different styles yes , but one is just as good as the other . Hart maybe has the slight edge experience wise but , Adrian is also solid . Hopefully there will no infighting and they can both settle down and train hard together . If it doesn’t work out for one or the other they only have to wait for the January window . Obviously we all hope that doesn’t happen .

  5. I think it is great news all around all the best to Randolph. Imo there isn’t a lot in it between Hart and Adrian, I think Adrian can probably learn a lot from Hart in what to do and what not to do next season we probably won’t have Hart unless we can negotiate the same deal as this season and depending on how things go for Hart we are probably likely to lose him at some point so in a way this should tell Adrian he is our hope for the future I believe he can be better than Hart and probably will be its up to him to keep improving and make that a reality.

  6. I have a feeling that Darren Randolph and Adrian will both leave soon……..with someone experienced like Rob Green coming in on a free contract as cover for Joe Hart.
