Members of the Brisbane Hammers have travelled over 10,000 miles to make their pilgrimage to the Boleyn Ground today.

Five members of the Australian Brisbane hammers have made the long haul flight together with a Sydney Hammer and a Kiwi hammer. They will be meeting up with Brisbane Hammers that are already in London for Irons matches over the next two weeks.

The Brisbane Hammers were formed in 2004 after the playoff final. They meet at the Pig n Whistle Eagle pub in Brisbane so if you are ever in the city contact them on their facebook group of which they have about 400 Facebook members. They try and meet up for an official game once a month and get anything from a handful to a hundred. Kick off times make a big difference with most of the games kicking off  at 1am in the morning!

They had about seventy Hammers fans turn out when West Ham beat Liverpool at home in the league last month in the early kick off was their best attendance this season. They have a good mix of expats and Australian West Ham fans. The Chairman, Dave Rhodes moved to Australia in 2002 and set up the group a couple of years later on the back of a huge attendance at the pig n whistle at the playoff final vs Crystal Palace. A few of them swapped emails and the Brisbane Hammers were formed.

If you see any the Brisbane, Sydney or Kiwi Hammers today, Wednesday for Spurs or the Everton game make sure you give them a warm welcome. They have travelled for over 24 hours to get to the match.
