Sunderland green shirt give away at West Ham

|

GreenThe 1,805 Sunderland fans who have made the long journey to the Boleyn Ground will be given a free Green Sunderland shirt today at West Ham.

Sunderland fans have already benefited from the kids for a quid deal with £1 tickets for under 16s, whilst over 65s tickets paid £25 and adults at £43 to visit the Boleyn Ground for their last time today.

Sunderland’s official site said “To thank their fan for such tremendous backing, every Sunderland fan at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday will be given a 2015-16 away shirt courtesy of Sunderland AFC, with club staff inside the ground handing out the vibrant green away shirts to fans as they arrive. In order to ensure that every fan receives their shirt, the club is asking supporters to arrive at the ground as early as possible on the morning of game, with turnstiles open from 11.15am for the 12.45pm kick off. Supporters are also asked to take their seats slightly earlier than usual, ensuring that that they are wearing their shirts, so that a photograph can be taken of the whole away end just before kick-off.”

It appears the away end in Sir Trevor Brooking lower will be a sea of green, let’s hope they green with sickness or jealously when the final whistle blows.

    Only 1,805 wonder Why ?
Big green blanket not moving it will feel like we are playing in the country,
We will be an eco club with our green belt

  • That was the allocation asked for. They had a choice of 1805 , 2400 or 3000 allocation

Admire their loyalty , proper supporters ! Well done .
Might feel like the 300 though when watching the game ?

  • Maybe Sullivan and Gold should give away 9,000 away or third strip shirts to everyone who goes to the Old Trafford. That would look amazing at Old trafford. Can imagine Brady having a fit if she reads this choking on her cornflakes…..

I love our away kit this season. Sheer class, the best one we have had for many many years. I’m luckly enough to have been given both home & away shirts & given a choice I would prob wear the away more than the home. See how many are left by the last game & then maybe give away whats left.
Sean do you know if the club are planning anything along the lines of what the gunners did when leaving Highbury? I’m sure every one was given a red or white t-shirt to mark the leaving & imho made for a great experience for everyone. Awash with a sea of claret & blue would look amazing.

Thats one way to get shot of a lot of tat. Since when do you associate sunderland with green?? Maybe thats why their defence have gone missing so often this season, no one can see them. Can’t sell them, give them away & turn it into a PR stunt.. what is it with so many clubs going for a green away kit this season?? Horrible horrible horrible..
