Irons rubbish striker report

|

jelavic (1)Reports that West Ham bid £10 million for Burak Yilmaz during the transfer window have been rubbished by the club this evening.

Turkish Football have made the claim but a senior Irons source immediately dismissed the report to ClaretandHugh along with so called revelations the player had a £30 million release clause in his contract.

Hammers sources scoffed at the claims saying the highest bid was only ever £5 million as Slaven Biliv was always more focused on his former Croatia international Nikicia Jelavic.

One report claimed that a £6.4 million deal had been agreed but a senior Hammers source told us: “Not true – there were always preferred options to the player.”

Despite Bilic  knowing all about Yilmaz from his time at Besiktas in the last two years he was always more interested in  Jelavic as a better and cheaper option given his Premier League experience.

And eventually the Irons moved in on deadline day to strengthen their options up front.

Lucky we did not waste the money on him to sit on the bench and we would not have Moses or Antonio now,
Still think Jelavic will be a good buy to have in reserve,
And Yilmaz did not have age on his side,
    Good call 2 Daves
