Chiek Kouyate has revealed how he made it third time lucky – and, in doing so, fulfilled a prophecy made by Dimitri Payet.
The midfielder got on the end of the playmaker’s brilliant free kick at the Emirates to score one of the goals that put Arsenal to the sword, and then said: “ The first game that he played here, we played together, he gave me the ball and I missed.
“The second one was against Norwich, I missed again, and he said it will be third time lucky. On Sunday, he gave me the third one and I scored, so he was right. He has extraordinary vision.”
Speaking to the official site at www.whufc.com, Kouyate added: “To think that was only his first game, away from home, against Arsenal, he has shown all his talent. He gave Arsenal’s defenders a tough time, I really hope he’s going to continue like that.
“The three thousand fans in the stands were fantastic. We heard them before the warm-up, at the start of the game, at the end of the game.”
Payet had commented the atmosphere was amazing, and Kouyate added: “Dimitri is right. He said to me, when we were playing the friendlies, ‘the supporters are already there’, and he asked me, ‘is it always like that here?’
“I told him, you’ve seen nothing yet, that’s just the start, but during the match, ‘they’ll be there for us throughout the game’. The supporters here are extraordinary.”
They could be the pairing of the season Kouyate winning the ball giving it to Poyet and backing him up,
Obiang and Oxford could do well providing the ball for Zarate as well

Cant wait for Saturday were going to raise the roof, the club have lots of ‘special’ plans for the day its been called ‘Claret & Blue day’ prob just flags and stuff…… I hope we get to hold up those card things at each end before kick off, Bobby Moore’s face one end and Marco Boogers caravan the other
Boogers. The only head case missing from the bench. Get him on the coaching staff and we will truly have the holy trinity of violent nutters.
Have to admit this guy is turning out to be a great signing and with part could end up getting a few goals from midfield this season. If obiang is any where near as good we are going to have one hell of a midfield this year and that will song still to come ?
