West Ham United’s managerial search continues, with David Sullivan reportedly investigating Frosinone boss Eusebio Di Francesco as a potential successor to David Moyes.

This news comes alongside previously reported interest in other managers like Ruben Amorim, Julen Lopetegui, Paulo Fonseca, Thomas Tuchel, and Gary O’Neil.

A former Italian international with 12 caps, Di Francesco is said to be learning English, potentially in anticipation of a Premier League move.

While Di Francesco’s current team is battling relegation in Serie A, some context is crucial. Frosinone has one of the league’s smallest budgets, and keeping them up would be a significant achievement.

Di Francesco’s experience extends beyond relegation battles. He managed Roma and Sassuolo, where he laid the foundation for Roberto De Zerbi’s current success at Brighton.

Under Di Francesco, Sassuolo achieved promotion in 2013 and a remarkable sixth-place Serie A finish in 2016, securing a Europa League qualifying spot.

Di Francesco’s first season at Roma saw them finish third in Serie A and reach the Champions League semi-finals, narrowly losing to Liverpool on aggregate.

All well and good, but he does seem a bit light weight compared to the other candidates on our wish list.

Jurgen Klopp is replacing David Moyes!!! True story.

That’s just as likely as most of the dozen or so other so-called candidates that Sullivan and Co. are interested in..

I’m tired of reading these manufactured stories – just wake me up after 19th May when an announcement must be due.
