West Ham boss David Moyes has reacted to David Sullivan’s ‘younger only players’ declaration by explaining that may not always be the bet way forward.
Sullivan has insisted that he can only bring in young and athletic players in January but Moyes has made it clear there’s a place for more mature individuals.
He said: “I brought in Sylvain Distin from Portsmouth at probably that age after we sold Joleon Lescott to Manchester City and Sylvain was brilliant for three or four years.”
And as frantic discussions going on behind the scenes over various targets, the manager admits there are very few who will own up to being the people responsible for signing players.
He said: ” The manager should always have a say.“There are very few people I know who want to be the guy who says it’s their decision, because signing players is the hardest thing and few get it right.
“Fortunately, I think through a lot of my time I have got it right.
In our situation we need experienced doers ( not learners ) in several key positions. That’s if we want the next level to be upwards rather than downwards.
😂 this should be interesting ? Sounds like a power struggle in the beginning ? IMO I think sully may be trying it on with Moyes and Moyes is saying I want what I want not what you want ! Buy class not zabbas and contes who were class but have lost pace ! Pace is the key and Moyes has just made comments about pace so we will see in Jan ! Hopefully sully puts up and shuts up 😎

I don’t know that Moyes as always got it right… And just bringing in players u know doesn’t always work.
